Restoration Hardware Floor Lamp Dupe

Restoration Hardware is one of my favorite window shops. I love the style but not the price tags. It’s one of those stores I use for inspiration for my own home, but try to get the look on a budget. I was on the hunt for floor lamps. Something modern with a vintage flair. I found lamps like this one below at every big retailer for about $1000 each:

Then I took a trip to my local Habitat for Humanity Restore and I found these beauties. Old light posts from the city that had been discarded as trash. They were $25 a piece. I knew exactly what I wanted to use them for.

The posts are cast iron but hollow inside. We took a heavy duty over sized drill bit and drilled a hole near the base for the cord to exit out the bottom. We used this exact lamp kit below AND scored the large shades at homegoods for $24.99 a piece!

In the end my lamps cost $62.95 a piece and even better – no one else will have the same ones because you can’t just order them from a catalog and if Im being honest I think that’s my favorite part!
