The Prosecco Paloma

I shamelessly make my husband watch Vanderpump Rules with me on Tuesday nights. And if he’s being honest he enjoys it. One night while catching up on our favorite show we heard someone order a Paloma. My husband immediately looked up a recipe and we got the goods to try them out! Amazing! The PERFECT summertime drink for the tequila lover. Crisp, light and fresh.

After a while of mixing up some basic Palomas we started experimenting. We added jalepenos before shaking for a spicy Paloma. Then we upgraded to jalepeno simple syrup! And then folks, the mother of all ideas came to me. A Paloma is traditionally finished with a bubbly splash of club soda, but why not top it off with a splash of my favorite fizzy drink of all time -Prosecco. And that’s how The Prosecco Paloma came to be my go-to summer drink. Amen.

Here’s What You Need:

4 grapefruits

2 limes

2-3 tablespoons cane sugar or simple syrup (Depending on how sweet you like it)

1/2+ cup of tequila – I’m a firm believer that only you can decide how much is enough here!

Splash of Prosecco (or club soda if you are going traditional)

My Favorite Prosecco in Riondo Prosecco!

Cane Sugar and Pink Himalayan Salt (For Rim)

Juice your grapefruits. If you have a fancy juicer you are already ahead of me. If you don’t, just do it the old fashioned way simultaneously squeezing while twisting your fork. Leave no juice behind. These puppies are expensive.

Now do the same with your limes.

Drain pulp now if you aren’t a pulp lover. (My husband insists on this)

Pour into shaker with no ice – If you want spicy add some fresh jalapeño slices here or replace sugar with jalapeño simple syrup.

Add your sugar and tequila.

Shake, Shake, Shake until it’s frothy.

Mix 1 Tsp salt and one of sugar on a plate.

Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and coat it in the sugar and salt mix add a little cayenne if you are going spicy!

Add ice to your cups.

Pour shaker over ice and top off with a splash of Prosecco!

I mean is there anything better then adding more booze to your already boozy drink? Am I the only one who gets a rush from that? Have I been at home with my 2 year old too long? Please tell me Im not the only one!
