12 Dollar Store Must Have Items for Your First Place
If you are getting ready to move into your first place soon you’re probably in the market for a few things. This is the complete list of $1 Items everyone to help your new house feel like home!
1. This contact paper for the inside of all your drawers in bathrooms or kitchen! It is super easy to install and has an anthropolgie thing going for it. I love that it protects the inside of our drawers from spills and stains!
2. Stemless wine glasses. Enough said.
3. These jars make a great place for sugar in the kitchen or cotton balls in the bathroom!
4. The perfect everyday drinking glass. And while I’m at it this heavy rocks glass for the hard stuff. These glasses are weighty and feel and look MUCH more expensive that $1!

5. Going for a clean neutral look? This whole stoneware set is great way to start (comes in a round option too)! Plates, bowls and mugs! And at $1 its no big deal when someone accidentally breaks one!
6. These Plastic Paint Trays are great for one time use when your painting your new space. While you’re at it pick up these plastic drop cloths to protect your floors and furniture. A great alternative to the $15 fabric drop cloths from your local hardware store.
7. Micro fiber cloths for dusting because unfortunately being a homeowner/renter means having to clean and dust.
8. Lightbulbs , not fun or sexy but definitely necessary when you are in your own place. A cheap option and good quality. I like the soft white hue of this bulb, but there are so many options to choose from!
9. This mesh strainer is one of those things I am always looking for but never feel like spending money on. It’s the best way to strain a simple syrup to add to your prosseco or sift flour into your cake batter!
10. Hate to see your sponges out on the counter? This little clear holder will help keep them out of sight. It suctions to the inside of your sink! Now no one has to see how hard you scrubbed last nights lasagna pan.
11. Snacks! Because who wants to live in a house without snacks?? My all time favorite chips, and one of the only places I can ever find them! Stock up your pantry!
12. And last but not least a lighter! Add this to the “One more thing I always find myself reaching for but hate to spend money on” list. I have had this one for over 2 years and it’s still going strong!
